Auto repair in the United States is split between independent shops, dealership service departments and national chains. Independents handle most routine work (oil changes, brakes, tune-ups, check-engine diagnostics) at lower labor rates and often specialize in one make or in imports; dealers keep factory tools, software and warranty authority; chains sell speed and standard pricing on maintenance items. Most shops charge a diagnostic fee, credited toward the repair if you go ahead, and quote parts and labor separately. Certification matters: look for ASE-certified technicians and, in many states, a state repair license posted at the counter. Written estimates are required by law in most states before work begins, and you are entitled to your old parts if you ask.

Flagstaff is in Arizona, in the Southwest, where the desert climate brings very hot summers, mild sunny winters and the summer monsoon; outdoor businesses shift their hours toward early mornings and evenings in the hottest months. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Flagstaff follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

I appreciate University Auto Repair for taking such good care of us. We were driving through the state and lost a fuel injector in our truck and were able to contact them and get to their shop at 1pm on a Friday and they were able to get us up and going by 5pm again that night so we could continue our drive home. Thank you for being professional and polite to us.

Had a great first-time experience at University Auto. Needed routine maintenance on my car and the person on the phone was friendly and knowledgeable. They got me in the next day and finished in a couple hours. Gave me an estimate before service (fair price) and it didnβt change when they finished. The shuttle driver was great, too. Highly recommend these guys!

I had my vehicle towed in without an appointment, and they were able to get me in right away. Everyone I interacted with was kind, professional, and easy to work with. They diagnosed and completed the repair in less than 24 hours, which was a huge relief. I also really appreciated how transparent they were throughout the process, they clearly explained what was going on, discussed my options, and there were no surprises. Great customer service from start to finish. I would definitely recommend them and will use them again in the future!

Chris and the team at University Auto Repair were amazing. They kept in good communication with me when delays occurred with parts shipments and got me a loaner car so I would have transportation. They also warranty their work for three years, giving you more confidence in them. The work they did was exceptional, and I wouldnβt hesitate to go back to University Auto Repair for any more vehicle concerns.
